Masatov and Chief Expert R.K. Kazkenov, participated in the International Conference “Formation of a Multipolar World and Development Trajectories of Central Eurasia.”

The event was organized by the Gorchakov Fund, with the support of the International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting “East-West.” The conference was structured into three thematic sections, where participants discussed:

Paradigms of Multipolarity in Central Eurasia
Strategic Challenges and Opportunities: National Interests in Central Eurasia
Economic Integration and Sustainable Development in the Context of Globalization
Key Discussion Points
In today’s changing world, Central Eurasia has emerged as a new geopolitical entity. The formation of a multipolar world is now a reality, and within this evolving order, the subregion plays a significant role in global geopolitical strategies. Kazakhstan, as a key participant in global integration processes, occupies a strategic position in ensuring regional security and the socio-economic stability of neighboring countries.

A multipolar world, built on the principles of equality and responsible interdependence, requires a deeper understanding of its fundamental characteristics. Key issues for reflection include:

Global security challenges and the effectiveness of checks and balances in maintaining stability
The paradigm of multipolarity and its implications for Central Asia
The role of public diplomacy in shaping international cooperation
The search for a value-based consensus among nations
Navigating the dichotomy between globalization and national sovereignty
Additionally, the discussions addressed:

Challenges and threats to the subregion, including the risk of bloc-based confrontation
Aspects of civilizational cooperation and the concept of new globalization
Limits to economic growth and emerging economic opportunities within multilateral integration frameworks
Participants
The conference brought together representatives from government institutions, leading analytical and public research centers, and academic organizations from Russia (MGIMO of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Kazakhstan, Serbia, Belarus, and Tajikistan.

This high-level dialogue provided an important platform for strategic discussions on the future of Central Eurasia within the global multipolar framework and contributed to strengthening academic and diplomatic collaboration among participating countries.
